Sweet Bonanza and Sweet 16 Blast use similar 6×5 pay-anywhere mechanics, but their volatility, RTP options, enhanced bets, and payout rules differ.
Table of Contents
Sweet Bonanza and Sweet 16 Blast are candy-themed slots with several closely matched mechanics. Both use a 6×5 layout, award wins from matching symbols anywhere on the grid, and remove winning symbols before new ones fall into place. Each game also starts its free-round feature with 10 rounds and uses multipliers during that feature.
Sweet 16 Blast is available in our free slots collection with demo credits. The biggest differences appear in volatility, RTP settings, enhanced betting, and payout information. Sweet Bonanza is classed as low volatility, while Sweet 16 Blast is medium volatility. Their RTP structures also differ.
Sweet Bonanza vs Sweet 16 Blast
Sweet Bonanza is developed by Pragmatic Play, while Sweet 16 Blast is an RTG Slots release. Their core layouts and bonus structures are similar, but each provider uses different terminology and mathematical settings.

The similarities go further than the candy theme. Both games use the same grid size and start wins at eight matching symbols. They also rely on symbols disappearing before replacements fall into place.
Their free-round triggers and multiplier ranges line up closely too. The larger differences come from volatility, RTP options, and how each enhanced-bet mode changes feature access.
Theme & Visuals
Both games use bright candy settings, but their symbol sets are not identical. Sweet Bonanza mixes sweets with fruit. Its grid includes heart-shaped candy, colored sweets, apples, plums, watermelons, grapes, and bananas. The lollipop acts as the Scatter.
The background continues that theme with pastel clouds, ice cream, candy scenery, and soft pink and blue tones. The layout leaves the 6×5 grid open and keeps the Buy Feature and enhanced-bet controls beside it.
Sweet 16 Blast focuses more heavily on confectionery. Its symbols include colored candies, star-shaped sweets, chocolate treats, swirls, and other dessert imagery. The gummy bear is used as the multiplier symbol during Free Games. Its grid uses a blue background with a candy-land scene around it.
The presentation also makes the games easy to tell apart in motion. Sweet Bonanza uses larger fruit symbols mixed with glossy candy pieces. Sweet 16 Blast keeps the grid almost entirely confectionery-based. Their Scatter and multiplier artwork also differ once the bonus features begin.
Gameplay & Winning Mechanics
Traditional paylines do not determine wins in either game.
Sweet Bonanza pays when enough matching symbols appear anywhere on the screen. The official provider material shows winning groups from 8 to 12+ matching symbols. Higher counts use different paytable values.
After a win, the Tumble Feature removes the winning symbols. The remaining symbols fall downward, and new symbols enter from above. If the new arrangement forms another win, another tumble follows. The in-game rules state there is no fixed limit on the number of possible tumbles.
Sweet 16 Blast uses a similar system called Pays Any. Its paytable also uses 8–9, 10–11, and 12+ matching-symbol tiers. Winning symbols disappear after they are paid. Symbols above then fall into the empty spaces, and new symbols enter from the top.
Those Cascading Wins continue until a replacement arrangement produces no new win.
Sweet 16 Blast also explains how its paytable is calculated. The Pays Any bet equals 1/20 of the total wager, including Scatter calculations, and the game pays only the highest win for each paying symbol. This matters because the displayed paytable values are not direct total-bet multipliers.
Sweet Bonanza instead presents the anywhere-win structure through its own paytable and Tumble Feature rules.
RTP & Volatility
Sweet Bonanza volatility is listed as low in its in-game rules. The game describes this setting as paying smaller amounts more often while still allowing larger wins.
Sweet Bonanza RTP is shown as a range in the in-game rules: 96.49% minimum to 96.6% maximum. Pragmatic Play’s product page separately lists 96.48%, so the published figure differs slightly from the version checked in-game.
Sweet 16 Blast volatility is medium according to RTG.
Sweet 16 Blast RTP is configurable. RTG lists 91%, 95%, 96.25%, and 97.5% versions. The exact RTP should therefore not be assumed without checking the specific version in use.
RTG also publishes two game-odds figures for Sweet 16 Blast. Its page lists 42.92% winning spins for the base game and Free Games at 1:415. These are provider-stated figures and should be read separately from RTP.
Free Spins
Sweet Bonanza Free Spins begin when four or more Scatter symbols land anywhere on the grid. The feature starts with 10 Free Spins.
Three or more Scatters during the feature award five additional Free Spins. The in-game rules also state that special reels are used while the feature is active.
Sweet 16 Blast uses the term Free Games instead. Four or more Scatters anywhere on the gameboard award 10 Free Games. A purchased feature also begins with 10 games.
Three or more Scatters during Sweet 16 Blast Free Games add five extra games. The bet remains fixed at the triggering amount while the feature runs.
The trigger, starting number of rounds, and retrigger are therefore closely matched. The main difference here is the terminology used by each provider.

Multipliers
Sweet Bonanza multipliers appear only during Free Spins. Confirmed values are 2×, 3×, 4×, 5×, 6×, 8×, 10×, 12×, 15×, 20×, 25×, 50×, and 100×.
A multiplier symbol remains on the grid until the current tumbling sequence ends. If several multiplier symbols appear, their values are added together. The final combined value then multiplies the total win from that tumble sequence.
Sweet 16 Blast multipliers work in a very similar way. The gummy bear multiplier appears only during Free Games and can carry values from 2× to 100×.
Multiplier symbols remain onscreen until the current cascade ends. Their values are then added together and applied to the total win from that entire cascading sequence.
Neither game’s rules describe a persistent multiplier that carries through every remaining free round. Each multiplier applies to the current tumble or cascade rather than carrying into later rounds.
Bonus Buy
Sweet Bonanza Bonus Buy access is available through the standard 20× bet multiplier. Buying the feature costs 100× the current total bet and gives access to the Free Spins round.
Sweet 16 Blast Buy Feature also costs 100× the current total bet. RTG states that purchasing it automatically plays a spin that triggers Free Games.
The purchase price is therefore the same. The wording and trigger presentation differ, but each option provides paid access to the game’s free-round feature.
Ante Bet vs Bonus Bet
Sweet Bonanza Ante Bet changes the bet multiplier from 20× to 25×. That raises the total wager by 25%.
With Ante Bet active, more Scatter symbols appear on the reels. The in-game rules explicitly state that the natural chance of winning Free Spins is doubled. The Free Spins purchase feature is unavailable while this setting is active.
Sweet 16 Blast Bonus Bet also raises the total wager by 25%. RTG states that it adds more Scatter symbols to each reel and increases the odds of triggering Free Games.
There is an important wording difference. Sweet 16 Blast does not state that the trigger chance doubles. It only confirms an increase.
Bonus Bet stays active until the player turns it off. The Buy Feature is disabled while Bonus Bet remains active.
Betting Limits & Maximum Win
Sweet Bonanza’s in-game rules state a minimum bet of $0.20 and a maximum bet of $300. The rules checked for this version do not state an overall maximum win, so no figure is listed here.
Sweet 16 Blast uses different payout wording across its sources. Its in-game rules state that the maximum payout for a paid spin is 2,500× the base bet. All features stop when that maximum is reached.
RTG’s product page separately lists a 50,000× Top Award. Because the provider labels these figures differently, the 50,000× Top Award should not be treated as the same figure as the 2,500× paid-spin maximum.
Game Controls
Sweet Bonanza has a detailed set of confirmed controls. Its interface includes Autoplay, normal spin speed, Quick Spin, and Turbo Spin. Players can also adjust the bet, open the information screen, and switch between cash and coin views.
The settings menu includes separate controls for ambient audio and sound effects. Game History is also available. Space and Enter can start and stop spins from the keyboard.
Autoplay includes a Skip Screens option. This can automatically move past feature introduction and ending screens after a short delay.
The Sweet 16 Blast interface shows on-screen bet controls, Bonus Bet, and Buy Feature buttons. Its in-game rules do not document Autoplay, Quick Spin, or Turbo Spin, so those controls are not included here.
What is the difference between Sweet Bonanza and Sweet 16 Blast?
The biggest Sweet Bonanza vs Sweet 16 Blast differences are volatility, RTP structure, enhanced betting, and payout information.
Sweet Bonanza is low volatility, while Sweet 16 Blast is medium volatility. Sweet Bonanza’s in-game RTP sits between 96.49% and 96.6%. Sweet 16 Blast can use 91%, 95%, 96.25%, or 97.5% configurations.
Their enhanced-bet rules also differ. Sweet Bonanza Ante Bet explicitly doubles the natural Free Spins trigger chance. Sweet 16 Blast Bonus Bet adds more Scatters and increases the chance of Free Games, but RTG does not state that the chance doubles.
Sweet 16 Blast also states a 2,500× base-bet maximum payout for a paid spin, while RTG separately lists a 50,000× Top Award. Sweet Bonanza’s in-game rules do not state an overall maximum win.
Our Verdict
The Sweet Bonanza and Sweet 16 Blast comparison is unusually close at the mechanical level. Their reel format, cascading wins, free-round structure, multiplier ceiling, and 100× feature-buy cost all line up closely.
The meaningful separation comes from the mathematical setup and provider rules. Sweet Bonanza uses a low-volatility profile and a narrow in-game RTP range, while Sweet 16 Blast uses medium volatility with several RTP configurations. Their enhanced-bet wording and published payout figures also differ, so the two games should not be treated as mathematical equivalents.
